Biographies














Ellena Arden- Director/Piano

Ellena graduated from Notre Dame de Namur University in Belmont, CA in 2003 with a BM in Music Piano Performance and a BA in Child Psychology. Ellena began her private piano studies at the age of four, and two years later was admitted to the San Francisco Conservatory of Music Prep Division. Her first public appearance was at the age of nine, when she placed as a finalist at the Grand Piano Young Artists Showcase in Palo Alto. She went on to win second place at the Bela Bartok Piano Competition the following year. From 1991 to 1998, Ellena studied piano performance with internationally renowned pianist Daniel Glover. During this time, she performed in numerous recitals in the Bay Area and for 4 consecutive years in the San Francisco Russian Festival. Ellena's participation in competitions has yielded her several awards including Third Place in the Piano Concerto Division at the 1998 US Open Piano Competition. After graduating from Notre Dame Ellena earned her MA in Music Therapy at the University of Pacific in 2011. Ellena is currently pursuing her PhD in Health Psychology from Walden University. 


Michelle Millier- Voice/Violin

Michelle has been under the violin tutelage of Dr. Waldgvogel, Lara Webber, Imant Kotsinsh, and Peter Jaffe (Stockton Symphony Conductor). As a current member of Delta Singers Michelle has performed in numerous Choral Festivals and various concerts with the Stockton Symphony. As a vocalist she specializes in choral and musical theater genres. She has performed in numerous shows with the Lodi Musical Theater. She has studied voice with Nicole Howton, and violin with Vasi Klinker, Goody Choi-Trask, and Dr. Ann Miller. Michelle currently holds her Bachelor's in Music Education with an emphasis in Instrumental Music at the University of the Pacific.  

Logan Coleman- Guitar

Logan has studied classical guitar performance under the tutelage of Dr. David Chapman, and Prof. Guy Powell at MJC, and currently Prof. Travis Silvers at San Joaquin Delta College. Logan has performed in masterclasses for Eva Beneke, Jay Kacherski, and Manuel Espinas. Logan is involved in many small and large guitar ensembles as part of his studies. He was fortunate to have played in ensemble performances alongside the Texas Guitar Quartet, Carlos E. Santi, and Manuel Espinas as part of the 2015 and 2017 Guitarraganza guitar festivals. His goal is to transfer to a 4-year university and study music performance and education. 

Jorge (George) Torrez- Voice

Jorge Torrez is a vocal performance major at UOP Conservatory of Music from Salinas, Ca. He transferred from Cabrillo College in Aptos, CA where he was a teaching assistant for Cheryl M. Anderson and the Cabrillo Youth Chorus and the Founder/Director of Il Dolce Suono, a student-led vocal ensemble. Apart from being classically trained, he's also taken the stage in musical productions of Spring Awakening as Hanschen (The Western Stage), Les Miserables as Marius (San Benito Stage) and many solo performances; Bach's Cantata 150 as the Alto Soloist (UOP), Mozart's Vesperae Solennes de Confessore as the Tenor Soloist (Cabrillo College) and recently received First Place in his division in the Stockton Opera Guild's Kathe Underwood Scholarship Competition 2017.

Richard Fiallos- Piano

Richard is a graduate from University of the Pacific c/o 2016 with a BM in performance.  He studied piano under Dr. Rex Cooper, Frank Wiens, and Dr. Sonia Leong as well as accompanying with Dr. John Cozza.  Richard started taking piano lessons at the age of six at the Gorin School of Music.  In 2007 he started taking lessons from Dr. Rex Cooper at University of the Pacific who was his primary teacher until his retirement in 2013.  Prior to Pacific, Richard attended San Joaquin Delta college and studied piano with Matt Baer alongside Dr. Cooper.  Throughout his time at Pacific, Richard has participated in various master classes and performances including chamber recitals, solo recitals, and the annual Honor's Recital.  He was also an active accompanist for students as well as the University Chorus and Pacific Singers.  In 2016 he was one of four selected winners of the annual concerto competition and played the first movement of Prokofiev's Concerto No. 2 in G minor with the University Orchestra.

Anastasia Satterfield- Piano

Anastasia has been a student of the piano since she was 6 years old. She is currently studying piano at the Conservatory of Music at the University of the Pacific under Professor Frank Wiens. She is expected to graduate with her BM in Music Therapy in 2021. She has taken Master Classes from both Professor Wiens & Dr. Sonia Leong. Anastasia is privileged to come from a musical pedigree with acclaimed teachers such as Carl Czerny, Isabella Vengerova, and Ludwig Van Beethoven. 

Emily Criss- Violin

Emily Criss  is a Music Education major at the Conservatory of Music at University of the Pacific. She has studied under the instruction of Dr. Nicolas Waldvogel, Dr. Ann Miller, David Thorp, and Igor Veligan. Emily has experience as a chamber musician and playing in pit orchestras for both musicals and Pacific Opera Theatre, as well as being a two time soloist for the Yuba Sutter Symphony’s Young Artists Solo Competition. She is expected to graduate with her Bachelors in Music Education with an emphasis in Instrumental Music in 2020.

Tanya Harris- Voice

Tanya Harris is a native of Salinas, California and a transfer student from Cabrillo college (Aptos, CA). While at Cabrillo, Tanya was a teaching assistant for choral director Cheryl Anderson and the Cabrillo Youth Chorus. Ms. Harris also had the privilege of teaching choral music to K-8 at Salesian elementary school as well as K-8 at Rio del Mar elementary school in Santa Cruz, CA. Currently, Ms. Harris is studying under the vocal guidance of Dr. Lynelle Wiens at the University of the Pacific Conservatory of Music. Recent engagements include a principal role in the opera production of Dido and Aeneas as well as solo work for Faure's Requiem and Liebeslieder Waltzer (Brahms). Ms. Harris is graduating from UOP in 2020 with a Bachelors in Music in vocal performance. 

Katie Elson- Voice

Katie Elson is a Vocal performance/Music Education student at University of the Pacific. She is a current student of Dr. Lynelle Wiens. She has performed locally with Stockton Civic Theatre and Showbiz Theatre Company for several years, and most recently has begun performing with the Pacific Opera Theatre Ensemble, where she sang the role of "Summer" in intermezzi scenes from Henry Purcell's "The Fairy Queen." In 2016, she received the Stockton Opera Guild Kathe Underwood Memorial Scholarship. She is expected to graduate in 2021 with her Bachelors of Music in Vocal Performance and Music Education with choral concentration. 

Eugene Harris- Drums

Eugene Harris has been playing drum set and percussion for over 10 years. His formal education includes 6 years of rigorous middle school and high school training including jazz, orchestral, marching, and off Broadway. Eugene holds a BA in Jazz Studies from the University of the Pacific and is fluent in Rock, R&B, Funk, Jazz, and Latin. Eugene is very passionate about passing on his love of music and works well with any student ranging from 5 years of age and up.

Art Hernandez- Piano

Ryan Vang- Voice

Ryan is currently studying vocal performance at San Joaquin Delta College under the tutelage of Kate Bautch. Ryan is also heavily involved in many of the vocal ensembles under the direction Of Dr. Southard who is in charge of Delta's Choral Studies, such as Concert Choir, the Delta Singers, and Delta Vocal Jazz. Ryan has also previously worked with other musical collaborative projects with other various choirs such as Vox Musica. His goal is to transfer into a four year college to study Music Education.
